Fixing #

Use screws and dowels: Use the enclosed screws and wall plugs to mount the terminal to the wall.

Mark the drill holes: Use the wall mount or print out the drilling template to align and mark the drill holes.

Check connections: Next, make sure that the power supply unit and, if necessary, the LAN cable are connected to the terminal.

Install the terminal: Lastly, insert the terminal into the mounting tray of the wall mount and then secure it with the flat-head screw on the underside.

Power #

Is your plug already plugged in? Nothing works without power. So let’s check the power supply to your terminal:

Power supply unit #

To put the terminal into operation, plug the device’s power supply unit into a suitable socket. The terminal emits a short beep and the display lights up. After about 10 seconds, the device is ready for use.

PoE #

To put the terminal into operation, plug the LAN cable from the device into a PoE-capable network socket. The terminal will emit a short beep and the display will light up. After approximately 10 seconds, the device will be ready for use.

Internet #


Conni needs the internet to exchange data between the terminal and the software! So let’s access the device and establish a connection:

LAN #

  1. Connect the LAN cable: Plug the LAN cable into a suitable network socket.
  2. Check connection: Briefly tap the Datafox logo on the display to check if the terminal is connected to the internet. If you see TCP/IP in white, everything is OK. However, if TCP/IP appears greyish, the connection hasn’t worked. It can take up to 60 seconds to establish an internet connection, so please give the terminal the necessary time.
  • Active Mode: Make sure that Active Mode is set to No. If not, tap on the menu item to set it to No.
  • HTTP mode: The HTTP mode should be set to Secure. If this is not the case, tap on the menu item to set it to Secure.

WiFi #

  1. Open menu: To connect the terminal to the WiFi, press and hold the Datafox logo on the terminal display for 5 seconds.
  2. Select system settings: Select system settings in the menu and enter the master password, then confirm with Enter.
  3. Interrupt communication: In the new menu, select communication and interrupt the communication by tapping on the display.
  4. Select interface: Then click on the menu item interface and then on WIFI.
  5. Customize settings: Use the arrow keys on the right-hand side of the display to scroll all the way down and select settings (or WiFi parameters depending on your firmware).
  6. Change network: Now click on Change network and select the correct network.
  7. Enter password: Enter the passphrase (password) for the selected network and confirm the entry with Enter.
  8. Save configuration: Save the configuration by clicking on Save configuration in the menu. Select a free memory location or overwrite an existing memory location and confirm your selection by tapping the display.
  9. Back to main menu: Click on the ESC button to return to the main menu. The terminal will now restart automatically. If this does not happen within the next 30 seconds, disconnect the terminal from the power supply and reconnect it after 10 seconds.
  10. Check the connection: Briefly tap the Datafox logo on the display to check whether the terminal is connected to the Internet. If you see the WiFi symbol in white, everything is OK. However, if the WiFi symbol is grayish, the connection has unfortunately not worked.
  • Active Mode: Make sure that Active Mode is set to No. If not, tap on the menu item to set it to No.
  • HTTP mode: The HTTP mode should be set to Secure. If this is not the case, tap on the menu item to set it to Secure.

LTE #

  1. Open menu: To connect the terminal to LTE, press and hold the Datafox logo for 5 seconds.
  2. Select system settings: Select system settings in the menu and enter the master password, then confirm with Enter.
  3. Interrupt communication: In the new menu, select communication and interrupt the communication by tapping on the display.
  4. Select interface: Then click on the menu item interface and then on MOBILE.
  5. Customize settings: Next, select settings (or mobile parameters depending on firmware).
  6. Enter PIN: Now scroll all the way down with the arrow keys, select Enter PIN and confirm the entry with Enter.
  7. Return to the main menu: Click on the ESC button to return to the main menu.
  8. Check: To check whether everything has worked, briefly press the Datafox logo. If everything has been set up correctly, a SIM card symbol should now appear.
  • HTTP mode: The HTTP mode should be set to Secure. If this is not the case, tap on the menu item to set it to Secure.
  • Active Mode: Make sure that Active Mode is set to No. If not, tap on the menu item to set it to No.
